Valentine's Day 2009

We took the boys down to Kemah for Valentine's Day. We rode the double decker carousel, the train, and played some games. Then we had lunch at Landry's. All in all it was a perfect day. There is still so much damage left from Ike it is really sad to see. Places where there were houses and businesses are just leveled...gone. Big X's on buildings waiting to be demolished. I know that they are working hard on trying to get everything back to normal, it is just a long road to recovery. Hope every one enjoys the montage of our Valentine's day!

Bryce at Sesame Street Live

Bryce, like many young children from many different generations, LOVES Sesame Street. I dug it myself at an early age. He has a particular affinity for Elmo, which probably also doesn't surprise you. I don't know what it is about that squeaky voiced red-furred creature, but kids dig him. Well Angel noticed a few weeks ago that Sesame Street Live was coming to Houston, so for the heck of it we sprung for tickets and went Friday night. I wasn't quite sure how Bryce would react. I didn't think he would freak out or be scared or anything, but I wasn't sure how he would show his appreciation. Well, he was mesmerized, hypnotized, transfixed. He never really took his eyes off the show the whole time except when we distracted him with the camera. And for the most part he was silent. He pointed and said "Elmo!" a couple times in the second half of the show, but mostly he just stared, unable to look away. He loved it. See some pictures and a video below.
